Brass + percussion
Welcome to brass + percussion at the ºÚÁÏÉçÇøÍø College of Music! We focus on the areas of horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion.
Our faculty members can be heard regularly throughout the United States and abroad as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestral performers. With these activities, the faculty is dedicated to bringing a wealth of current knowledge to their pedagogy. Regular visits by world-renowned guest artists complement and further enhance our students’ educational experience. Recent guests include the American Brass Quintet, Ian Bousfield, Karin Bliznik, Julie Landsman and many others each year.
Graduates of our brass + percussion program hold positions in orchestras, military ensembles, chamber groups, colleges and universities—as well as public school music programs—around the world. Recent successes include positions in the Louisiana Philharmonic, U.S. Army Field Band, New World Symphony, Sarajevo Philharmonic and many more. Additionally, our students have been admitted to prestigious graduate schools and have been successful in major competitions including Fischoff, Falcone and others.
As a student pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree in brass + percussion, you will receive private lessons and small group coaching in solo, chamber, orchestral and jazz repertoire. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in other, larger ensembles on campus. We hope you'll consider joining us—we look forward to supporting your success!
