CU Wizards Frequently Asked Questions

When are the CU Wizards shows?
Between the months of September and June, there is a CU Wizard show one Saturday per month.  Typically they occur mid-month but be sure to check the schedule for the complete list of show dates and locations on the University of Colorado, Boulder campus.  All shows begin at 9:30 A.M and last about an hour.

Where are the CU Wizard shows located?
CU Wizards shows are usually located in either Cristol Chemistry 140 or Duane Physics G1B30.(D wing of Duane)

How do I find out about special accommodations?
If you have a special need or disability, please notify the Physics Office, 303-492-6952, a few days in advance of the show you will be attending. Best wheelchair access to Duane Physics is through the east doors. A map of campus buildings, including accessible entrances, can be found online at colorado.edu/map.

I have been trying to contact the CU Wizards the morning of the show, why aren’t you answering?
We are only in the office Monday-Friday 1:00 pm-3:00 pm. (These times vary each semester.) Please make sure you have directions and parking information before you leave as we will be unable to assist you via email or phone on the morning of the show.  Most relevant logistical information is available on this website. How old does my child have to be to attend the CU Wizards shows?
CU Wizards is mostly designed for students in grades 5-12; however, all ages do attend our shows and are always welcome.

Should I drop my child off/should I come in with my child?
Your child should be accompanied by an adult, there is no supervision at the show.

Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are not available, nor are they necessary. Seating is limited to the spaces in the auditoriums. We follow a "first come- first serve" seating arrangement. Very rarely do we fill to capacity. In the event we do, please consider visiting the CU Natural History Museum to make your trip enjoyable and wath a video capture of the show at a later time.

The weather is bad, will the CU Wizards show be canceled?
Most likely not.  As long as campus is open, the show will go on! With that said, during times of bad weather keep checking the website for updates as well as your local news. Use your best judgement.  Historically, shows have continued even in the event of a blizzard! in the event a show is cancelled, we will send an email to our e-mailing list. Can the CU Wizards program come to my school/community/event?

How can I join the CU Wizards email reminder list?
There are three ways.  After attending a show, simply complete a feedback form and include your email address.  You will automatically be added to our list.  You may also sign up online or send an email to djnadmin@jila.colorado.edu to request to be added to the list.
