Susan Brown receives 21-22 Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award

Dr. Susan Brown, senior research associate, instructor of computational Linguistics courses and associateÌýdirector of the CLASIC program, has beenÌýchosen by CU's Graduate School as a winner of the 2021-2022 Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award.ÌýReflecting on this honor, Dr. Brown says, "I love my job, and I'm so glad it has evolved to include mentoring students. Helping them get the most out of their time at CU and watching them develop personally really gives me a lot of joy."ÌýDr. Brown’s teaching, and the mentorship that she provides to graduate students plotting a career inÌýlinguistics, computational linguistics and/or data science, is an asset to CU. HerÌýdedication to Linguistics and to the CLASIC program have helped make CU Linguistics one of theÌýbest places in the country to study computational and corpus linguistics. Dr. Brown’s students knowÌýhow lucky they are to have access to her unique constellation of pedagogical and intellectual gifts.
