  4:00 - 6:00pm

   Byron White Stadium Club

Join us for our Annual Spring Leadership Summit, a celebration of the incredible leaders who make our community thrive! This special event is our way of expressing our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the success of the Center for Leadership—our students, mentors, coaches, faculty and staff, and supporters.

Together, we’ll honor our Graduating Leaders of the Year as they receive their awards and share their insights on a panel discussing the future of leadership. We are also thrilled to publicly announce our inaugural SLOY Fellows cohort, recognizing the outstanding students selected for this prestigious new initiative.

Following the event, we invite you to join us for a short appetizer reception—a time to connect, reflect, and celebrate the collective impact of our leadership community.

Your dedication and passion inspire us, and we can't wait to celebrate you!

Become a Learning Assistant! /lead/2025/04/01/become-learning-assistant Become a Learning Assistant! Anastasia Gall… Tue, 04/01/2025 - 16:24 Categories: Event

Learning Assistants (LAs) are important liaisons between faculty and students, helping faculty better meet the needs of all of their students, and helping students feel more connected and included in the learning environment.

Additionally, being an LA is often a transformative experience for students because they develop further content expertise, build close relationships with faculty, students, and others within the LA community, and become leaders within their department and more broadly across the university. First-semester LAs are supported through weekly meetings with their Lead Faculty and other instructional team members and a 2-credit teaching and learning course (EDUC 4610).

One thing I want to highlight is that since LAs receive a $2050 stipend for their time, rather than being paid hourly, these students do not need to be eligible for federal financial aid. We’re also happy to chat with prospective applicants in LBB 320B and 320C!

?

  • Build skills that not only help you teach, but improve your performance as a student
  • Develop relationships with other motivated students in the LA community
  • Connect with faculty members and learn more about possible careers
  • Give back to the community by both advocating for students and assisting lead faculty
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the material you help teach
  • Grow within the LA Program, with mentorship, training, and other opportunities

Learn more about the LA Program and how to apply here.

Interested in becoming a Learning Assistant?

Info Session With LA's & Faculty: 5:00- 5:30 PM @ Chancellor's Hall in CASE

Applications open March 21 & close April 7!

Additional information about

Kenneth Cole is an American designer and social activist who believes that business and philanthropy are interdependent. His company, Kenneth Cole Productions, creates modern footwear, clothing, and accessories that are distributed worldwide. For over 40 years, Kenneth Cole has leveraged his passion and unique brand platform to make a meaningful impact on people’s wardrobes and in their communities.

During the COVID-19 crisis in 2020, Kenneth refocused his energy and resources on an even larger, more debilitating global pandemic: mental illness and its related stigma. In that moment, The Mental Health Coalition – a collective of the nation's largest, most influential and diverse mental health organizations – was born. Understanding that 1 in  4 individuals worldwide will live with a mental health condition at some point in their  lives, largely due to the devastating impact of stigma, Kenneth believes 4 out of 4  individuals will be affected. The Coalition’s mission is to build a like-minded community that works together to destigmatize all mental health conditions and enable equitable access to vital resources and support for all. The unique proposition of the MHC is a commitment to marry basic business principles  of transparent and quantitative impact with an emphasis on cross-functional  collaboration.

Kenneth’s commitment to public health initiatives goes back decades. He has been one of the leading and loudest voices in the global response to HIV and AIDS for more than 30 years. Kenneth joined amfAR’s board of directors in 1987 and assumed its chairmanship in 2004. Under his leadership of 14 years, amfAR was instrumental in significant breakthroughs in HIV and AIDS research, treatment, and helping to destigmatize the disease. Since 2016, Kenneth has also been a UNAIDS International  Goodwill Ambassador using his passion, insights, and vast experience to help end the  public health crisis.

Director Dori Berinstein and Kenneth Cole will attend the Boulder International Film Festival in person.Directly following the screening, Kenneth will be presented with BIFF's first Catalyst Award in honor of his decades of activism on behalf of important causes including AIDS, homelessness, LGBTQ+ rights, gun control, and mental health.

The Boulder International Film Festival, in partnership with Kenneth Cole, would like to offer CU Students free tickets to see Kenneth Cole’s documentary “A Man With a Sole” about building his international brand Kenneth Cole Productions and leveraging his brand to have meaningful impact on people’s clothes and critical social issues. Following the film, Kenneth Cole will engage students and other audience members in a candid Q&A about his career, business, and philanthropy. Cole has used his platform to raise awareness of many important causes, including AIDS, homelessness, LGBTQ+ rights, gun control, and mental health. window.location.href = `https://biff2025.eventive.org/schedule/67b5214d1ec1c49ba18a0391`;
